pirateygoodness: (lots: kahlan = regina + magic)

Uh, so this episode was kind of a let-down after last week, unless you're like really jazzed about the intricacies of Zedd's inner mind. Which - I am not, dudes, sorry.

Legend of the Seeker Ladyspam 2.17: Needs Moar Chicks

I am also sort of just NOT FEELING the whole part of the plot where Zedd's great shameful hubris is that he fixed Panis Rahl's penis, thus unleashing the GREATEST EVIL THE WORLD HAS EVER KNOWN. . .IN HIS PANTS. It is kind of the stupidest thing ever, because boys are boringggggggg.

Caveat: IF YOU ARE ME. This is my opinion, you guys are welcome to like ALL THE BOYS EVER, if you so desire, and I will not think any more or less of you for it.

Anyway. THINGS I LIKED.

Cara leering at watching Kahlan as she strategically walks two paces behind her, and Kahlan's adorable "oh Cara" smiling, which did not cap well because this show insists on actually making its' actors walk through the woods while they deliver lines and look hot.

Also I sort of love that Cara's job in non-Cara episodes appears to be to point out how dumb the series A-plot is. For instance, in this scene at the beginning, where she is all, "Seriously, this is so dumb. Can you guys even READ? Maybe we should FIGURE OUT WHAT THE STONE OF TEARS DOES before we QUEST FOR IT. PS: MY FEET HURT."

I feel, though, like possibly we are supposed to share Kahlan and Zedd's unwavering faith in Richard's intuition. Which, uh. Yeah.

ANOTHER THING I LIKED: The way that Kahlan and Richard are still SEVENTEEN.

I mean, I mean this in a sweet way, I genuinely do. I LOVE that Richard makes Kahlan all smiley, and their stupid makeout sessions are adoooorable. But something about their dynamic, the way that it's physical-but-not-physical, just makes me think of that awkward high school boyfriend I had that one time in high school for like a month.

OH HEY GUYS YOU KNOW WHAT ELSE I LIKED? Cara's FAAAAAACES.

For instance, the face she makes when she turns down Secretly Panis Rahl, and then Kahlan finishes her sentence for her. Because they are girlfriends.

Or the face she makes when Kahlan is all "MAYBE IT'S FATE THAT THIS SUSPICIOUS MAN FOUND US EXACTLY WHEN WE NEEDED SOMEONE TO TELL US HOW TO USE THE STONE OF TEARS, :D :D" and Cara is all, ". . .trap."

I especially love the look she gives Richard, like she's hoping he'll agree with her that their girlfriend is being completely crazy about this. She looks so disappointed in both of them.

OH ALSO REMEMBER THAT FIGHT SCENE?

More specifically, remember THE ONLY IMPORTANT PART OF THAT FIGHT SCENE, namely THAT ONE TIME WHEN KAHLAN AND CARA TOTALLY SAVED EACH OTHER'S LIVES IN AN ENTIRELY NONSEXY WAY?

HERE ARE SOME GIFS. TO SHOW YOU THE BUSINESSLIKE AND PLATONIC NATURE OF THE KNIFE-THROWING AND MAGIC-DEFLECTING.

UNF. I JUST LOVE THEIR ATTENTION TO MARKSMANSHIP.

NEXT WEEK: MORD'SITH! MAYBE IT'S A CARA EPISODE?
