Hello, internet! It has been ever so long since last we spoke. Some things:

1) Real life has made me ever so sleepy, and I am currently in that place where I really want to ~do fandom stuff~, but am really only up to passively consuming TV and nodding quietly. I plan to take it easy this weekend, because CLEARLY I need to recover in time for both new Lost Girl tomorrow, AND ALSO making approx. 192038498 Dyson: World's Crankiest Relationship Counsellor icons, because I am still not done lolling at that.

2) Oh man. Did you know that watching episodes of Xena and then Lucy Lawless episodes of BSG back to back is really surreal? Because it totally, totally is. She is ten years older yet INEXPLICABLY EVEN HOTTER POSSIBLY BECAUSE OF ALL THE CARESSING TRICIA HELFER.

3) Hey, did you know that I wrote fic? Because I 100% did, and I think it's pretty awesome. I am now posting my fic on AO3 at the same time as posting on LJ, in case you wish to subscribe to my on AO3 rather than following [livejournal.com profile] scurvyknavery. The kudos system still drives me NUTS grumblegrumble anons clicking the like button grumblegrumble in my day we had to write comments with words in them uphill in the snow etc etc stupid whippersnappers ruining everything, but that seems to be what people are doing these days.

The Fox You've Been Waiting For, Crossover, Lost Girl/Warehouse 13, Kenzi/Claudia Donovan, NC-17.
They meet after one of Nate's shows. Spoilers through Warehouse 13 3.13, and Lost Girl 2.13 (LJ | DW | AO3)

Never Expect To Be Sure, Lost Girl, Bo/Lauren, NC-17
Bo's trying to focus, but the only thing she remembers about what Lauren's just said is how cute Lauren looks when she says biological systems. (LJ | DW | AO3)

Alright! I decided to respond to the fandoms from that meme from yesterday new-entry-style, rather than in the comments, because - well. Because sometimes, talking about what I like about things requires elaborate picspams, okay? That's not weird, right?

ANYWAY.

For recall purposes, the meme went like this:
Name a fandom that I am familiar with and I will tell you:

My favourite pairing
Something I love about them, in either words or pictures.

1. Legend of the Seeker: Mean Girls

my favourite )

2. Battlestar Galactica

kristen asks the tough questions )

3. Princess Protection Program

THE NEXT ENTRY WILL HAVE MORE PICTURES, GUYS. I just wanted to split things up, a little.

My response to the latest ep of BSG, as told through my AIM conversation with [livejournal.com profile] fox1013. Note how the spoilers are behind the cut, not in front of it. On account of how they are spoilers. Apparently this is really, really complicated.

spoilers for bsg 4.17/4.19: someone to watch over me )

So, yeah. IDK. I have basically given up on taking this show as ~serious text~ and following the mythology, because let's be honest - it is just going to make me entitled and bitter when RDM doesn't do what I have theorized would be totally awesome. (Also, spoiler alert: ALL OF THIS HAS HAPPENED BEFORE, ALL OF THIS WILL HAPPEN AGAIN.) I am just here for the pretty Sixes and Katee Sackhoff's gorgeous everything, and maybe some sex and explosions. Also, Anders.

This is not, like, an indictment of BSG as a show or me ~*~giving up~*~ on the series. It is just a restatement of the way I've always watched the show, since long conversations about the mythology seem to be the big deal these days.
pirateygoodness: (bsg: omg you guys. love you guys. omg.)
LOL, SERIOUSLY? bsg 4.16: deadlock )

In conclusion, in case me POSTING CONSTANTLY ABOUT IT has not tipped you off, people who are interested in reading and/or writing about Zac and Vanessa and Ashley having lots of sex in interesting ways should go here (V/A)or here (Z/V) and leave prompts. Or write something. Or a bit of both.

I'll be honest - I was a little leery over the pilot of Dollhouse. I love Joss Whedon as much as anyone who grew up eating, sleeping, and breathing BtVS and Firefly, but I'm at a point in my life where when people on the internet start flipping out over how Joss Whedon might be doing a project and it's going to be OMG AWESOME because it is JOSSSSS, I sort of have to take a step back. I don't do well with hype.

That said, I watched the pilot this morning, and like. It actually looks pretty cool. Eliza Dushku remains just as hot as she was when I was in high school, and I find myself intigued by Dr. Amy Acker, and Helo has apparently landed on Earth, divorced Sharon, and become a cop?

IDK, I think I might stick with it.

Hey guys! I know it's been a while, but I have some thoughts on television!

bsg 4.13: the oath )

the l word 6.03 )

Which brings me, in a roundabout way, to Gossip Girl 2.16: You've Got Yale. I have been saving the last half of this ep to watch for, like, weeks now, but I finally got around to it, and just. You GUYS. I have some ISSUES with the tail end of that episode, that I feel are best explained the way I explained it to [livejournal.com profile] girlboymusic like three minutes ago on AIM.

spoilers for gossip girl 2.16: you've got yale! )

Like, I have a lot of serious issues with this in light of the way they established Chuck's character in the first season, because, like. Retconning the only memorable thing his character did in the pilot so you can guiltlessly have him play piano and look sensitive and be boring is just. . .lame.
pirateygoodness: (bsg: say you believe in me)
Man. IDEK. I got spoiled for the ending of this episode by like four different people via Twitter (SPOILER ALERT: writing the word SPOILER in all-caps and then tweeting something is not actually adequate warning. Like, try not to [SPOILER] read the end of this sentence.) IDK. I don't really care, because it didn't involve one of my shiny, held-to-my-chest favourite favourites, but. I am pretty serious about not knowing what happens with them until I see it on my laptop the morning after it airs.

bsg 4.12: a disquiet follows my soul )

In unrelated news, though, Bones this week was pretty much amazing. The first one had ridiculous costumes and Emily Deschanel was gorgeous and CANADA JOKES! The second one had HOCKEY and also a guest spot by Chyler Leigh's husband, JAN JAN THE CHEERLEADING MAN.
pirateygoodness: (bsg: kara is petulant. hotly petulant)
Okay. I'm going to be up front about this, because it's the final half-season, and whatever. There are three characters on BSG that I completely nothing. I don't dislike them, I just. . .nothing them. One of these is Laura Roslin. I'm sorry.

I do have lots of other thoughts on BSG, though! I thoughtfully wrote them down for you all.

bsg 4.11: sometimes a great notion. )
