Clarification for the confused: this is the episode that's due to air this Sunday, Feb 12. Due to a spectacularly serendipitous iTunes error, it was released for 100% legal download in Canada yesterday, well in advance of its scheduled airdate. The

yuletide reveal has come and gone, and now that the authors have been revealed I get to talk about the stories that I wrote.

I wrote three stories this year, the most I've ever written, but two of them were Madness ficlets, so I'm not 100% sure they count. My main story was A Teenage Girl's Guide To Not Being Possessed By A Demon for

novembersmith which was the first - and probably the only - Jennifer's Body fic I've ever written. I completely lucked out on the request, here, and the details my recipient wanted were perfectly suited for me. It took a couple of pretty committed movie-rewatch-and-writing sessions, but I am really, bizarrely proud of the end product.

I also wrote two Lost Girl ficlets for Yuletide Madness, because I may have a passing interest in that show. The first was Too Many Cooks (Make Out All Over The Kitchen), for

netgirl_y2k which is Bo/Lauren and basically just an excuse to write awkward, fluffy science nerdery, because it pleases me. The second was Relationships We're Not Having (A Love Story), for

eidolem, which is Kenzi/Hale.

I also have a recs post coming, as soon as I am organized enough to, like. Write it. I swear. Watch this space.

HA. UNNAMED IMAGE EDITING SOFTWARE, YOU HAVE RETURNED TO ME. IT IS TIME FOR A RECAP-WITH PICTURES FOR EPISODE 10, AKA: The One With The Cage Fights Where All The Girls Had Feelings.

IN CONCLUSION: LIFE'S A HAPPY SONG, THIS EPISODE WAS WONDERFUL, HOW DOES THIS SHOW CONTINUE TO BE THIS GOOD.

Sigh. I watched Cracks today, because

robotjen keeps tumblring photos of Eva Green and I did mean to see it when it came out, and everyone was all "well it's disturbing but gay but disturbing," and lol. THEY WERE NOT KIDDING RE: DISTURBING.

I apparently need to assume the worst more often, as I assumed the "disturbing" bit was that Eva Green's character ( spoilers. ) WHEN ACTUALLY, OH NO, it's that she ( spoilers + trigger warning. ) GUYS, THIS IS WHY I NO LONGER WATCH MOVIES THAT ARE NOT A) ABOUT PIRATES, B) ABOUT SUPERHEROES, C) MOSTLY BASED AROUND EXPLOSIONS, OR D) FOR CHILDREN.

There needs to be a version of IMDB where when I look up a movie, a warning comes up saying, "

pirateygoodness, this movie will make you want to cuddle your cat for an hour in the dark. How about watching Bandslam instead."

Sigh.

IN OTHER NEWS, I continue to be ridiculously into Lost Girl, and am pretty sure that everyone on my flist needs to be watching it. I may put together another "GUYS NO SERIOUSLY YOU SHOULD WATCH THIS SHOW" post, as I feel like this week's upcoming ( episode summary spoilers for 2.09 ) is going to be MAGICAL and want very much to share this magic with every internet-person I've ever met.

Happy Canadian Thanksgiving, internet!

1) SO MUCH TURKEY. SO MUCH PIE. It was surprisingly tiring. Four more days until vacation, I am practically weeping with anticipation.

2) Still not over the Warehouse 13 finale. I want to watch it again, but I am still upset from the first time, so I am rewatching the happy episodes of this season and working my way up to it. DEVASTATING, GUT-WRENCHING EMOTION: BROUGHT TO YOU BY THE SHOW THAT ALSO FEATURED MAGICAL BODYSWAPPING, AND STUNT-CASTED SIMON AND KAYLEE. WHO WOULD HAVE GUESSED.

3) Also watching: Fringe, Community, Castle. I continue to have thoughts on these shows that range from all-lowercase Concerns (Fringe) to all-caps OH, SHOW/YOUR ACTORS CONTINUE TO HAVE GREAT HAIR CONGRATS. (Castle)

4) I wrote fic! I know this will shock and appall the ENTIRE INTERNET but it involves Bo and Lauren and how they like like each other.

(Guys: I am at the stage of fannish appreciation where I want to spend endless LJ threads discussing how cute they would be together and how they need to hook up like yesterday. I also need to discuss how Kenzi is snippy at Lauren the way teenage kids get really rebellious when they're about to have a new stepmom, and how much I want the two of them to bond over their mutual appreciation for Bo/possibly this should involve science. And also all of the different ways I need Bo and Lauren to hook up this season, TOP OF MY LIST: A) ON A TABLE, B) IN THE WOODS, C) SOMEWHERE SUPER INAPPROPRIATE WHILE THEY'RE DOING ~FIELD WORK.

Apparently we do all of that on Tumblr now, but WHATEVER, I'M GONNA BE OLD-FASHIONED and keep it real on LJ.)

5) In related-to-Lost-Girl news, apparently Aaron Ashmore has an arc this season. ( in case you feel like that's a spoiler )

6) Also, comic books? I enjoyed Huntress #1 very much, but would like to know when Helena will be hooking up with Dinah.

Warehouse 13 is back! My sweet, dorky, awkward show, with Myka and her amazing gay shirt collection, and Pete (who has grown on me, but only when he's with Myka), and Claudia and everyone else, omg.

This season there is also Agent Ashmore (sorry, ~Steve Jinks), who is apparently a thing? I find him hilarious and endearing, in a bland, Ashmore sort of way. Time shall tell, but I am pretty optimistic.

Anyway. Thank you for accompanying me on that magical journey through the episode. I am so thrilled to have this show back in new episodes. There is just something about it - I love it sort of the way I love Seeker, for its earnest, balls-out geekery and delightful found-family dynamics. If you are not a person who watches it yet, you totally should be.

Meanwhile, I was struck down with the powerful glowing adorableness of Zoie Palmer. I DON'T CARE IF PEOPLE THINK HOT DOCTOR LAUREN IS BORING, I THINK SHE'S SUPER HOT AND INTERESTING. ALSO GAY. It pleases me.

Also also, SyFy has picked up Lost Girl, apparently? I don't really know how I feel about this, because on the one hand, ~American legitimacy and maybe more than $8 for special effects and stuff, and also 26 whole episodes of ridiculous werewolf love triangles and madcap adventures and KENZI AND LAUREN. On the other, I have concerns that ~American television also means less cleavage and lesbians, unless America manages to cure homophobia as like, a summer side project. Which - could happen? I guess? :D?

I don't know.

Guys, I'm gonna be straight-up honest. I'm not watching Camelot. I'm watching Morgan and Vivian's Ladies Only Black Magic Party Times, and let me tell you, IT IS AN AWESOME SHOW.

I am not going to front: Camelot in and of itself is kind of terrible. They managed to pick a very skinny, unassuming guy fro Arthur, and I can see why they thought that decision would be a good one, boy king thrust into power etc, but he just looks childish and out of place, I don't know. It doesn't help that his current story arc is to ( vague spoilers ) but even so. It is lackluster and mostly about straight men talking about ~what they fight for, except that they appear to be chilling out in a castle without any visible or imminent threats save Morgan, who is FANTASTIC.

Even though this show is done by Starz, it reminds me a lot of Seeker in its earnest, over-the-top, taking-itself-too-deadly-seriously lulziness. Basically, I really wish more people were watching it so that we could all discuss, together, how amazing it is. YOU STILL HAVE TIME BEFORE GAME OF THRONES STARTS, GUYS. CAMELOT IS ONLY GOING TO BE SIX EPISODES.

2) I have a lot of really awesome navel-gazing thoughts on fanfiction, but I will SPARE YOU ALL THE PLEASURE for now. In short: I wrote a story, on request from

fivewhatfive is giving me sudden fits of Kate Walsh nostalgia, what with mentioning her all the time. Like I was saying to her, I have this issue where I don't really like anything Kate Walsh is currently working on, but I sort of miss a time in my life when I did, and could revel in her party-time-having, animal-loving ~~totally not a lesbian~~ antics.

I finally posted the ridiculous Lost Girl fic that was supposed to be a porn battle snippet and ended up as 5,000 words of feelings. WHAT IS MY ISSUE, YOU GUYS.

Anyway: Between Today And The Last Time, Bo/Lauren, NC-17. Bo and Lauren work out their drama, and also have sex.

I kind of want to do a series of posts where I pimp people into that show, but really. . .I don't like that much about Lost Girl. I just like Lauren. And the fact that it's super Canadian. And, I mean, Bo and Kenzi are alright, IDK.

sword_of_lies is hosting an Epic Seeker Rewatch. It's AWESOME, and so much fun - we're doing two episodes per weekend, and started with the pilot last week. It's filling me with such nostalgia for that stupid goofy show, you guys have no idea. I miss Cara and Kahlan and how much that show made my heart hurt.
