The

yuletide reveal has come and gone, and now that the authors have been revealed I get to talk about the stories that I wrote.

I wrote three stories this year, the most I've ever written, but two of them were Madness ficlets, so I'm not 100% sure they count. My main story was A Teenage Girl's Guide To Not Being Possessed By A Demon for

novembersmith which was the first - and probably the only - Jennifer's Body fic I've ever written. I completely lucked out on the request, here, and the details my recipient wanted were perfectly suited for me. It took a couple of pretty committed movie-rewatch-and-writing sessions, but I am really, bizarrely proud of the end product.

I also wrote two Lost Girl ficlets for Yuletide Madness, because I may have a passing interest in that show. The first was Too Many Cooks (Make Out All Over The Kitchen), for

netgirl_y2k which is Bo/Lauren and basically just an excuse to write awkward, fluffy science nerdery, because it pleases me. The second was Relationships We're Not Having (A Love Story), for

eidolem, which is Kenzi/Hale.

I also have a recs post coming, as soon as I am organized enough to, like. Write it. I swear. Watch this space.

Hello, flist! Christmas totally happened, and it was awesome/full of family drama, in equal measure, as per annual tradition.

yuletide happened, and I got a lovely story:
Darling I Do, Lost Girl, Bo/Lauren
It is post-1.08, and there are cookies and processing and I totally really love it.

I wrote one story for the main archive, plus two Madness ficlets that I am really pleased with, and if you guess what I wrote you get - well, probably nothing. Bragging rights and an internet high-five.

I also got a chance to see Sherlock Holmes over the holidays, which was, as advertised, full of homoerotic bro-love and explosions, and exactly what I was expecting it to be.

Although: oh my god, the Dark Knight trailer that showed before it. So full of OH GOD WHO CARES SHUT UP BATMAN, except that seeing a trailer for a movie that glossy and well-promoted, set in Gotham, just makes me PINE for the fact that it will not have Renee or Kate Kane or Babs or Helena or Dinah or Stephanie Brown or ANY OF THE AMAZING GOTHAM WOMEN WHO I WOULD BUY SIX MOVIE TICKETS TO SEE IN THEATRES. Asldfkjs;jfj.

(As an aside: I have started reading the new Birds of Prey, and I need to sit down with someone very urgently to discuss the finer points of a) why Ev is amazing, and b) girls.)

1. I went to see the Muppets tonight, and it gave me a pretty significant case of Feelings. I do not quite know how to properly articulate why I loved it quite as much as I did, because when I try it sort of comes out as FOZZIE BEAR. GUYS THEY HAD FOZZIE BEAR AND THERE WAS SINGING AND DANCING.

But all of you should probably go see it. Unless you hate feelings or friendship or Muppets, I guess?

2. Speaking of other things that are pretty great: Yuletide assignments! I have mine! It is for [[fandom redacted]], and I am really excited to watch [[source material]] so that I can write fanfiction!

3. Uh, I don't know. I have been playing a lot of Skyrim. It is sort of addictive. ( lol idk content spoilers? )

I also cannot stop laughing at those cat people, they look so fluffy yet also frightening and ridiculous. I sort of wish I'd rolled one.

So. There you have it. If you're not the kind of person who likes tons of detail about the things that I enjoy, that's honestly fine. Write the story you think you'll write the best and enjoy writing the most, and I'm sure I'll love it.
