Dearest Seeker Fandom:
You are the awesomest. You really are.
HOWEVER. If you are, say, posting fic with spoilers for the finale, you probably shouldn't hint at what happens in the finale in your fic headers. For instance. Let's pretend that Harry Potter is a TV show. If I was writing a story in which I rewrote Harry Potter so that Snape did not kill Dumbledore, my headers should NOT look something like this:
Title: Guess Who's Not Dead Anymore
Rating: PG-13
Summary: I was so pissed about what happened to Dumbledore in Half-Blood Prince that I fixed it.
A/N: SPOILERS FOR THE FINALE. Snape can SUCK IT, what he did to Dumbledore was AWFUL, so I changed things for you guys. :D!
See how, even though I didn't specifically say Snape kills Dumbledore, that plot element is pretty obvious from skimming headers? That makes it difficult for people who haven't seen the finale - maybe they're starting the series from the beginning, or they had to work on Saturday and they're behind - to decide if they can read that story without getting spoiled.
A better way to phrase those headers might be:
Title: Rewriting Shitty Plot Developments
Rating: PG-13
Summary: Rewriting some things that happened in Half-Blood Prince to suit me.
A/N: SPOILERS FOR THE FINALE.
You see how I've changed my headers so that I still say most of the same things, but in a way that doesn't give away plot developments for people who don't want to be spoiled. That's how you should be writing fic headers.
I raise this issue because the Seeker finale aired less than a day ago, and I'm pretty sure that the entire internet hasn't seen it yet. And this is kind of an ongoing thing in the fandom, from what I've seen over the past couple months - the typical grace period for spoiler warnings in headers is at least a week, in some fandoms it's as long as a month or an entire season, as a courtesy to new viewers. Just something to think about.
Love,

PS: HEY GUYS GUYS DID YOU KNOW THAT
lotsbigbang IS A REAL THING? DID YOU KNOW THAT? BECAUSE I SURE DIDN'T BUT I THINK IT'S A RAD IDEA AND ALL OF YOU SHOULD DO IT. AND NOT GIVE AWAY SPOILERS IN YOUR HEADERS.
