Year-in-review meme, copied from
jengrrrl:
Your main fandom of the year?
Legend of the Seeker, holy fuck. That fandom came in on horseback and ATE MY LIFE for seven glorious months, and left me clutching my chest while holding 20,000 words of fpreg fic, and I love it for doing that.
Your favorite film watched this year?
LOL ~film. I've always preferred television to movies, and this year especially - I think the only movie I remember truly loving was Scott Pilgrim vs the World. Oh, also How to Train Your Dragon was ADORABLE and everything I could hope for out of a movie about viking teens, short of Blake Lively.
Your favorite book read this year?
Tipping the Velvet, AKA the Sarah Waters novel that hits every single one of my f/f kinks, hard and well. I cannot believe I waited this many years to read her work.
Your favorite album or song to listen to this year?
Too difficult without my iTunes with me.
Your favorite TV show of the year?
FRINGE.
Your favorite LJ community of the year?
LOL. If I say
girlsgunsfic does that make me an egotistical narcissist? Probably
sword_of_lies, in all honesty, for the people I met there.
Your best new fandom discovery of the year?
Oh god, this year had so many. Seeker was the one I fell hardest and fastest for, but this year was also the year I discovered Fringe and Warehouse 13 and Castle, and those are all really good shows.
Your biggest fandom disappointment of the year?
Legend of the Seeker being canceled. Discovering that
deej was not an axe-murderer.
Your TV boyfriend of the year?
BOYS ARE GROSS AND I HAVE ZERO BOYFRIENDS.
Your TV girlfriend of the year?
Oh god guys, THIS IS TOO HARD. I have a lot of girlfriends: ~Olivia Dunham~, and Alt Olivia Dunham, and Kahlan and Cara and Myka Bering and H.G. Wells. (Although, I guess if I had to pick, I'd say Olivia? I LIKE HER AN AWFUL LOT.)
Your biggest squee moment of the year?

I am actually serious: this is the moment at which television peaked. From then on, TV can only go downhill. Nothing can compare to the amazing Cara-and-Dahlia arc, both in terms of unf hot, and also in terms of canon queer women existing in genre TV.
The most missed of your old fandoms?
Gossip Girl. I love it, I do, but I don't have the same desire to sit down and watch it the second it goes live week-to-week, and I wish I did.
The fandom you haven't tried yet, but want to?
Preemptively: not Rizzoli & Isles, I'm sure. I don't know, though. I'm always interested in shows with pretty women who make eyes at other women, and what this year has taught me is that I'm still a big dork who prefers genre shows to regular shows about people with jobs and no magical powers. I waffle over starting Lost Girl, because Bo/Lauren intrigues me but apparently there is Some Dude and he's really obnoxious and causes
thrace_ a lot of angst. So. . .whatever comes out this year that's super gay and a little geeky, I guess. I have tentative hopes for Game of Thrones being a little gay, but I think I just miss Seeker.
Your biggest fan anticipations for the New Year?
Season 3 of Warehouse 13. The resolution of the current arc of Fringe, and hopefully future seasons of that show. Batwoman. Suckerpunch. Blake Lively being scantily clad in Green Lantern. Reluctantly, PotC 4.
Anyway. I just played like, eight hours of WoW, and it's Christmas vacation. So I think I'm gonna go do some more of that.
