Warehouse 13: The Primer
Sep. 18th, 2010 12:05 amAlright, guys. So
thrace_ has hooked me on Warehouse 13 through exploiting my weakness for girls in suits powerful magic, and now it is my turn to pass this wonder onto all of you. As a caveat, before we begin: this is not a "quality" show, much the same way that Legend of the Seeker was never destined to win any Emmys. It is, however, AWESOME. Hopefully that distinction makes sense to you.
Warehouse 13: A Primer: But Just The Parts With Ladies
ALRIGHT. So, first of all: Warehouse 13 is a show about two Secret Service agents, Myka Bering and Pete Lattimer. They run around collecting "artifacts" - weird objects usually related to a major historical or pop-culture event, ie. Sherlock Holmes' magnifying glass - which would otherwise cause wacky occurences in various exotic world locations, and "neutralize" them. The goal of all of this is to collect the artifacts so that they can be stored and kept safe in Warehouse 13, where they work.
Because the warehouse is like, really secret or whatever, all of the agents live together in a ridiculous B&B in some small town in South Dakota, helped by their handler Artie and a random-yet-awesome ~high school student with a past~, Claudia.

So.
( under the cut. )
If any of the above intrigues you, watching the second season would absolutely be worth your while. It's short (only 11 episodes, the twelfth and final one of the season airs on Tuesday), and if you're alright with dorky genre TV (think: Eureka, Legend of the Seeker, or any of the other SyFy original series not counting BSG) it's a fun bit of fluff television.
If you just want to jump right into the femslash, the H.G. Wells arc is set up in the first episode of the season, and then continues in 2.07. It really drives the last few episodes, and H.G. is SO AWESOME and also canon bisexual, and basically I want all of you to watch this so that there are even more people discussing how she should totally shack up with Myka and maybe they could adopt a couple of cats named after famous authors and scientists from the 20th century.
ALSO,
fivewhatfive has helped me give you all downloads of the gayest episodes, because I am pretty serious about enabling you guys.
2.01: Time Will Tell (In which we meet H.G. and set the stage for Myka being totally into her later.)
2.07: For The Team (H.G.'s next appearance. In which Claudia is adorable and also H.G. explains why she's a girl-woobie and melts Myka's heart a little.)
2.09: Vendetta (In which Myka's secret feelings for H.G. blossom into a massive crush, and they totally flirt with each other in front of Pete. After this, it is pretty much implied that they went back to Leena's and had enthusiastic gay sex.)
After you watch theseand get hooked, you could also watch the rest of the season. I won't be making Mary upload anything more, but H.G. is featured in 2.09 through to the finale, and IT'S PRETTY RAD.
