I am still nowhere near caught up on TV, but I sat down to watch the pilot of Glee today, and was charmed despite myself.
Like, I still have reservations about the show's ability to keep my interest, mostly because there is no female lead that really jumps out at me. I have issues with the fact that every female character seems to have some kind of major psychiatric issue played for quirks/lols - not because I think it's bad per se. I just find it hard to latch on and overidentify/fall for any one of them as we saw them in the pilot, and like. I need that to really be passionate about a show.
That said, the tiny sullen gay boy is MAD ADORBS and the music was cute and I was totally moved and pleased by the end of the episode, so I'll totally watch again in the fall. Also, I am pretty sure Justin Gaston was an extra as a football player and this is HILARIOUS.
