pirateygoodness: (fringe: miss lady cop reporting for duty)
So APPARENTLY there are rumours that for the past two weeks I have been trapped in [livejournal.com profile] fivewhatfive's basement lair, awaiting rescue by [livejournal.com profile] thrace_. THIS IS PATENTLY FALSE. Everyone knows, [livejournal.com profile] fivewhatfive is easily distracted, and I always keep a fresh supply of sparkles and jingly keys in my pockets. I rescued my damn self.

Anyway, I've been spending the intervening time plotting revenge watching television and objectifying ladies, it's been great.

I saw the Rocky Horror episode of Glee, and - guys, I get that Ryan Murphy is a gay dude, and wants to write stories about gay dudes, and honestly if I had my own TV show it would be NOTHING BUT LESBIANS. But really I just want to watch the Very Special Brittany And Santana Episode, where they maybe buy a baby kitten and make a pact to go to the same college and be together forever.

I've also been PINING because there have been NO OLIVIA DUNHAMS on my TV at all, but this is helping a little.

spoilers for 3.04 )

Also, frankly, I am horrified that [livejournal.com profile] thrace_ would not bring anyone on her totally unnecessary crack rescue team to give me a hug and buy me coffee afterwards. Like, say Myka Bering or Kahlan. Come on.
pirateygoodness: (gg: i need your smile - knock knock)
Goodness gracious. I am eating the best sandwich ever right now - I went into this tiny, shitty deli by accident, hoping it was a butcher shop, and the guy was so nice that I felt guilty leaving, even though I really didn't want a sandwich. But I got one? And it is delicious? And even though that place is 40 minutes away from my place on foot I'm seriously considering visiting it more often? SALAMI, YOU REMAIN MY ACHILLES HEEL.

TV I have watched this week includes the season premieres of How I Met Your Mother, Big Bang Theory and Bones, as well as the latest episode of Gossip Girl (WHICH, SUCK IT INTERNET: SERENA IS STILL THE BEST EVER). Oh, and also the finale of True Blood, FINALLY. One of these days, I just might sit down and explain why Vampire Bill's nuanced fearsomeness/comic impotence makes him my favourite of all the vampires like, in history*. Also: silly accents. Also, Anna Paquin remains hot.

OH, ALSO, JUST SAYING, [livejournal.com profile] echofades put together the BEST MEGAN FOX PICSPAM EVER, it's here. PEOPLE ON MY FLIST (who may or may not include [livejournal.com profile] maddie508) WHO THINK MEGAN FOX IS NOT COMPLETELY HANDS-DOWN AWESOME: THAT IS YOUR HOMEWORK.

*Probably I won't ever actually do this, because my reward for articulating serious thoughts on TV is, inevitably, "arguing with strangers on the internet," and that is never fun. BUT I COULD, OKAY.

Things I Have Accomplished Today:

1. Edits on the first two thirds of the ZVA epic! I have to finish them before I start writing anything new, or I will never finish them ever, and that would just be sad.

2. Watching the second episode of Glee, finally. That show is good, but it fills me with this wistful kind of misplaced emotion that makes me want to not discuss it with people, ever, in case they disagree with me.

3. Watched the pilot of Vampire Diaries, which is lolridiculous. I really really want to love it, because it should be exactly like True Blood if it was written by the team behind Gossip Girl, but I don't think it's going to stick. There are too many boys.

4. Rounded the afternoon out with three straight episodes of Wizards of Waverly Place. SERIOUSLY, that show. Selena is so cute I just want to giggle and Justin really really really wants to nail his hot sister.

In conclusion, Saturdays where I don't have anything I need to do = kind of totally awesome.
pirateygoodness: (hsm: tonight the headphones will deliver)
I am still nowhere near caught up on TV, but I sat down to watch the pilot of Glee today, and was charmed despite myself.

Like, I still have reservations about the show's ability to keep my interest, mostly because spoiler alert: i'm shallow. )

That said, the tiny sullen gay boy is MAD ADORBS and the music was cute and I was totally moved and pleased by the end of the episode, so I'll totally watch again in the fall. Also, I am pretty sure Justin Gaston was an extra as a football player and this is HILARIOUS.
