Community last night was. . .about what I expected from a Community episode about gay people. (That is: heavily reliant on stereotypes, queer-woman-phobic and transphobic, not quite offensive enough to be flat-out homophobic as the message was, theoretically, that being homophobic is wrong.) Still smitten with Britta, still deeply amused by any and all Inspector Spacetime jokes from now until forever.

Sigh. Once again, my disgruntled hangover Britta icon is the most appropriate.

In other, less depressing news: holiday ficathons! Because apparently it is now November, and SUDDENLY WE ARE PONDERING THE TIME PERIOD AROUND DECEMBER 25. I am trying to figure out what to do - last year I took on too many stories, and ended up having to default on Yuletide, but I am 90% sure it was the kind of defaulting where I can still participate this year. So I am now torn between Yuletide vs. participating in round two of girlsgunsfic vs. IDK, really I just want to write something about Bo and Lauren ~unwrapping presents~ and some of those presents are breasts.

Happy Canadian Thanksgiving, internet!

1) SO MUCH TURKEY. SO MUCH PIE. It was surprisingly tiring. Four more days until vacation, I am practically weeping with anticipation.

2) Still not over the Warehouse 13 finale. I want to watch it again, but I am still upset from the first time, so I am rewatching the happy episodes of this season and working my way up to it. DEVASTATING, GUT-WRENCHING EMOTION: BROUGHT TO YOU BY THE SHOW THAT ALSO FEATURED MAGICAL BODYSWAPPING, AND STUNT-CASTED SIMON AND KAYLEE. WHO WOULD HAVE GUESSED.

3) Also watching: Fringe, Community, Castle. I continue to have thoughts on these shows that range from all-lowercase Concerns (Fringe) to all-caps OH, SHOW/YOUR ACTORS CONTINUE TO HAVE GREAT HAIR CONGRATS. (Castle)

4) I wrote fic! I know this will shock and appall the ENTIRE INTERNET but it involves Bo and Lauren and how they like like each other.

(Guys: I am at the stage of fannish appreciation where I want to spend endless LJ threads discussing how cute they would be together and how they need to hook up like yesterday. I also need to discuss how Kenzi is snippy at Lauren the way teenage kids get really rebellious when they're about to have a new stepmom, and how much I want the two of them to bond over their mutual appreciation for Bo/possibly this should involve science. And also all of the different ways I need Bo and Lauren to hook up this season, TOP OF MY LIST: A) ON A TABLE, B) IN THE WOODS, C) SOMEWHERE SUPER INAPPROPRIATE WHILE THEY'RE DOING ~FIELD WORK.

Apparently we do all of that on Tumblr now, but WHATEVER, I'M GONNA BE OLD-FASHIONED and keep it real on LJ.)

5) In related-to-Lost-Girl news, apparently Aaron Ashmore has an arc this season. ( in case you feel like that's a spoiler )

6) Also, comic books? I enjoyed Huntress #1 very much, but would like to know when Helena will be hooking up with Dinah.

It was awesome. However, my ~thoughts and feelings~ are below the cut.

Anyway. Next week is supposed to be a big Dyson episode (if you want to DIE OF LOLS please go look at the promo picture Showcase has selected, I CANNOT, HIS HAIR), so me and my totally appropriate appreciation for Dr. Scienceboner McHotpants will be over in the corner writing fanfiction until after Canadian thanksgiving.

Please also acknowledge how amazing it is that I watch a show that will take a break for the correct Thanksgiving weekend. This is a big deal for me.

1. ladies_fest is taking prompts! If you were, IDK, interested in ladies or fanfiction, flist. Hypothetically.

2. Also seeker_kink is happening, if any of you are interested in reading or writing porn about the most powerful magic of all - the kind that happens in Kahlan's skirts.

3. Still can't discuss the True Blood finale, except that I was simultaneously ecstatic and DEVASTATED regarding various developments in that episode. Sweet fancy Moses, Alan Ball. Also, I will totally watch next season, even if it is approaching L Word Season 5 levels of drama.

4. So, I wasn't super stoked for Season 4 of Fringe, after the end of S3. For various reasons, the writers' agenda and my agenda for Olivia Dunham were not meshing, and I was growing a bit disinterested.

But then thrace_ posted this photo on Tumblr, and good grief, my loins.

( spoiler for HOTNESS. ) I approve.

5. Still very much enjoying Lost Girl. Still pretty sure that everyone I know should watch it. It's possible that deej and I have made an agreement that means I'm writing long, plotty, self-indulgent fic featuring Hot Doctor Lauren remaining hot.

6. I would also really really like the universe to produce more Lost Girl/LotS crossovers, if that's possible. I feel like those shows are both ridiculous enough that it would totally be plausible, and also HILARIOUS. As fivewhatfive pointed out recently, Bo and Richard are basically the same person, and also BO AND CARA. They would get so competitive! Kahlan would make adorable, scandalized faces! They could all swap tips on how they maintain their fabulous hair/impressive cleavage! And let us not even DISCUSS how amazing Kenzi in the Midlands would be, omg.

IN CONCLUSION: Not as stoked as I was about last week's episode. I still enjoy this show a surprising amount, and am very curious about next week.

GUYS REMEMBER HOW THIS SHOW IS STARTING UP AGAIN SOON? I sure do. I am tentatively really, really stoked about it.

1) I wrote fic! If you are intrigued by the idea of Community fic where Annie and Britta make out and possibly there's some light cowgirl roleplaying and BELT BUCKLES, it just might be the story for you.

Meanwhile, I was struck down with the powerful glowing adorableness of Zoie Palmer. I DON'T CARE IF PEOPLE THINK HOT DOCTOR LAUREN IS BORING, I THINK SHE'S SUPER HOT AND INTERESTING. ALSO GAY. It pleases me.

Also also, SyFy has picked up Lost Girl, apparently? I don't really know how I feel about this, because on the one hand, ~American legitimacy and maybe more than $8 for special effects and stuff, and also 26 whole episodes of ridiculous werewolf love triangles and madcap adventures and KENZI AND LAUREN. On the other, I have concerns that ~American television also means less cleavage and lesbians, unless America manages to cure homophobia as like, a summer side project. Which - could happen? I guess? :D?

I don't know.
